Derry Ltd has been appointed as the M&E design and installation partner on the new £20m+ leisure centre in South Holland, Lincolnshire.
Led by Alliance Leisure through the UK Leisure Framework, and on behalf of South Holland District Council, Derry Ltd is working with main contractor Willmott Dixon to deliver the South Holland Health and Wellbeing Centre, scheduled to open in January 2027.
The centre will feature a swimming complex, including a six-lane 25m main pool and a six-lane 20m teaching pool designed to support schools, learners, families, physiotherapy and rehabilitation. A modern changing village, with dedicated spaces for families and groups, will further enhance the visitor experience.
Internally, the facility will include a sports hall, gym, indoor cycling and fitness studios, a play zone and a café. Dedicated areas will support assisted exercise and a range of health services, including mental health, diabetes and dementia support. The Centre will be fully accessible, with Changing Places facilities.
Designed with sustainability and carbon reduction at its core, the new centre will be all-electric and gas free. It will incorporate air and water source heat pumps, extensive solar PV installations.
South Holland has a low UK adult activity rate, with 40% of adults and 48% of children not meeting recommended exercise levels. The new Centre aims to help address this challenge, and Derry Ltd is proud to be part of the team delivering this important community asset.
